R. Elizabeth Carpenter
is an editorial professional living in suburban Chicago with her husband and cantankerous
white tabby, Gato. She has worked in the publishing industry in many roles from
proof reader to editorial director.
Carpenter is a widow who has walked the widow’s
path, survived, and has transcended to recapture and redefine her own authentic
life. She earned her master’s degree in writing, but has been putting words
together to make stories since she was 10 years old. From a very early age, she
noticed that some of the most important issues in her life were issues cloaked
in mystery and lies, that women tended to lead silent, often invisible lives.
Sometimes the unspoken is the most important, most imprisoning, and ultimately most subjugating.
Mystery and lies though in some genres evocative of romance and intrigue, in
reality can belie invisibility and diminution.
R. Elizabeth’s writing mission is
to create real characters living authentic lives rooted in true female
realities. Though her stories are microcosms, Carpenter is determined to speak them
truthfully and openly—no blinking.
In addition to writing, Carpenter enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, and sharing all genres of live music with her love.
